Every single one of our projects was born from the idea of just one person, and have flourished from there to how we deliver them now.

We want people with learning disabilities, Autism and mental health issues to be able to realise their potential in work, social and community activities – in every aspect of their lives.

This aim keeps us grounded and focused on being accessible, inclusive and supportive. We always strive to do the alongside, and for the people we serve.

Our vision influences everything we do: the services we deliver, the projects we develop, the ideas we share, the activities, organisations and campaigns we get involved in. This vision ensures we are always improving and developing ways to better deliver our projects.

CAN wants to enhance the lives of our people, working with partners and agencies to provide a wrap-around range of support and services to them, their families and their carers.

We are proud of our organisation for a lot of reasons, but mostly because our mission has stayed the same since the day we opened our doors in 1997. Despite our growth, that we have remained ‘All About People’.

From those humble beginnings, our success has been due to all the bold, creative individuals with sincere dedication to support the development of valuable skills, real friendships, learning opportunities and growth.

In 2018 alone, we had support from hundreds of people – volunteers, families and carers, health professionals, NHSCT, customers, students, staff, employers, funders and more. Without your support, we wouldn’t be able to provide our services to our members, trainees and participants.
